The literal definition of Escaper is "one who breaks free from confinement". The band strives for a sound without limits while keeping the dance grooves going.
The band released their 3rd album on Ropeadope Records in June 2020 which was met with critical acclaim including being named a JamBase “Release Day Pick”. Named “On the Verge” by Relix Magazine (full page in print edition).
The band has had sit-ins on stage with members of the Disco Biscuits, Brazilian Girls, Thievery Corporation, Rubblebucket, Cabinet, Turkuaz and more. They have also shared bills at venues such as Brooklyn Bowl and Irving Plaza with Jon Fishman (Phish), Karl Denson, Start Making Sense, Aqueous, Electric Beethoven, The DAB Sessions (ft. Aron Magner & Felix Pastorius). They have been seen at festivals such as Elements:Lakewood, DiscJam, Grateful Getdown, Rock n Roll Resort and Mazzstock. Featured on radio such as WEQX and WFOX.

Jason Grey plays bass and is a proud Ropeadope recording artist since 2014. Jason has toured across the nation sharing bills with acts such as: Butcher Brown, Aqueous, Felix Pastorious, John Fishman, Portugal The Man and others.
Jason also records and performs music under his “Greywolf” moniker and has received critical acclaim having been featured in Live For Live Music and NYS Music. A fusion of electro, punk and indie elements Grey has created a sound all his own. He has most recently collaborated with synth wave heavyweights BITWVLF and Sidewalks and Skeletons on “Expose Your Bones” (Polycoffin Records).

Phil Kadet is a multi-talented musician based in New York City. He is an entertainer, composer, arranger, music director, producer, conductor, and accompanist, working in many diverse genres of music, from rock and roll to opera. He is a regular fixture as a solo musician, band leader, and collaborator in cabarets and night clubs, state-wide and internationally, including frequent club dates in Los Angeles and New York, international ocean liners, as well as a residency in Paris, France.
Since 2013, he has been a collaborative pianist and guest artist with the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, a world class training and performance program on the Big Island of Hawaii. This past August, he became a collaborative pianist and music director for Cantos Para Hermanar al Mundo, a series of classical concerts presented in the city of Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico. He is also a staff accompanist for the voice program at NYU Steinhardt. Accomplished in the world of musical theater, music director credits include The Last Five Years, Grease, Thirteen, Spring Awakening, and recently, orchestra conductor and music director for West Side Story at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea, HI. This past year marks his debut as a solo recording artist, releasing two albums, First Takes and Kadet Christmas. While in performance chiefly a pianist and singer, he also enjoys playing guitar. A seasoned creative and working musician, Ricky was born in Pittsburgh and began studying jazz at Duquesne University in his teens. He received his BA for Music Performance at Berklee College of Music (2008-2012), studying with Ian Froman, Kenwood Dennard, and Terri Lynn Carrington.
Ricky has performed at NRG Stadium for the Howdy Modi summit, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, End of the Road festival, recorded with multi-Grammy nominated producers, and has extensively toured EU/UK.
