The literal definition of Escaper is "one who breaks free from confinement". This band is known for improvisational journeys and alluring songwriting atop a wide array of dance-influenced texture and timbre. 


The band will be releasing their 4th studio album with Ropeadope Records this November 4, with a headlining show to celebrate at The Sultan Room in Bushwick, NY on Saturday, Nov. 5. 


Earlier this year, the band released a live record from their show at the legendary Bowery Ballroom. The band, led by Will Hanza (guitar, vocals) and Phil Kadet (keys), introduced new collaborators Luke Bemand (bass - lespecial) and Sam Crespo (drums - Space Bacon), who join Escaper for their newest album and for the upcoming release show.


Past albums have gained critical acclaim including being named a JamBase “Release Day Pick” and being named “On the Verge” by Relix Magazine.


The band has welcomed sit-ins on stage with members of the Disco Biscuits, Brazilian Girls, Thievery Corporation, Rubblebucket, Dopapod, Cabinet, Turkuaz and more. They have also shared bills with Jon Fishman (Phish), Karl Denson, Start Making Sense, Aqueous, Electric Beethoven, The DAB Sessions (ft. Aron Magner & Felix Pastorius). They have been seen at festivals such as Elements:Lakewood, Adirondack Independence Music Festival, Great South Bay Music Festival, A Bear's Picnic, Grateful Getdown, Karnival of the Arts, Rock n Roll Resort and Mazzstock. Featured on radio such as WEQX and WFOX.
